Travel to MMW06 by:

Railway

Cambridge Railway Station (CB1 2JW) is 2.4 km (1.5 miles) from the University Centre. Time: approx. 20 minutes (walk).

Day cycle hire is available at the Railway Station. Cost: 8 pounds. Time: approx. 20 mins (hire + cycle).

Frequent buses from the Railway Station to the City Centre bus stops (St Andrews Street and Emmanuel Street) will reduce the walk to 0.8 km (0.5 miles). Time: approx. 20 minutes (bus + walk).

Taxi from the rank at the station costs about 4 pounds; ask for "University Centre, Mill Lane, near the Garden House Hotel". Time approx. 8 minutes (taxi).

Coach

National Express long-distance coaches to Cambridge stop at Drummer Street, 0.9km (0.6 miles) from the Univeristy Centre. Time: approx. 10 minutes (walk).

Car - Park & Ride

To avoid bringing a car into Cambridge, park at a Park & Ride site (an out-of-town car park with a cheap and frequent shuttle bus). Cambridge has five P&R sites around its periphery, all clearly signed on the M11, A14, and A1307 approach roads.

Buses run from 07:00 to 20:00, to and from the City Centre bus stops (St Andrews Street and Emmanuel Street), a short 0.8 km (0.5 mile) walk from the University Centre. Cambridgeshire County Council has further details. Cost: 2 pounds. Time: approx 30 minutes (bus + walk).

On the day, you can check live traffic information for the major road network.

Car - Central Cambridge

Note: Driving into Cambridge should be avoided if possible. Roads are congested and restricted. Parking is difficult. If you do choose to drive into the centre, you must allow extra time, and plan where to park. Morning traffic into Cambridge is awful: by 09:30 it should be starting to free up but the last mile may take up to 30 minutes.

Garden House Hotel Car Park. The private car park of the Garden House Hotel is extremely close, only 100 m from the University Centre. Car access is only as follows: from Trumpington Street, via Mill Lane, to Granta Place. Postcode: CB2 1RT. Cost: 7 pounds (6 to 12 hours) or 12 pounds (12 to 24 hours). Time: approx 2 minutes (walk).

Queen Anne Terrace car park. Queen Anne Terrace car park, on Gonville Place, is long-stay and quite near, 1.6 km (1 mile) from the University Centre. Postcode: CB1 1NA. Cost: 10 pounds + 50p per hour after 18:00. Time: approx 20 minutes (walk).

Other City-Centre car parks. See Cambridge City Council information for other off-street car-parks. There is no all-day on-street parking nearby.
